PREAMBLE

The Diploma in Education (Early Childhood Development (ECD)) is designed to develop an ECD teacher with in depth knowledge of child development theories necessary in the design and implementation of child-centered, play-based early childhood programmes. The programme is full time with residential phase and teaching practice shared equally in the three years.  The entry requirement is 5 O’Level subject passes including Mathematics, English and Science or  equivalent. The diploma intends to focus on ECD A (3-4 year old), ECD B (4 – 5 year olds) and Grade 1 -2.
